"MY SON AND I came up to the area for mountain biking, staying at one of the pond campsites in June 2023 for three nights. The hosts have done an outstanding job creating a beautiful campground and were very helpful the entire time. The location is outstanding with easy access to Pisgah, Rock Creek, and especially Dupont State Forest. Really nice details like cool fire pits at each campsite stocked with dry wood (with extra wood available), and a 'common space' at the hilltop area with great amenities (bathrooms, a nice outdoor shower, hot tub, deep sink for dishwashing) that altogether make this a unique and super-comfortable car camping experience."

"THIS CAMPGROUND IS GORGEOUS! Small campground, yet beautiful facilities. They even have a hot tub with a STUNNING view of the mountains! Very close to the trails. The host is friendly and helpful, and responded within minutes when I had questions about arriving late at night. I look forward to my next stay here!

“DUPONT BIKE RETREAT is a very special place. We spent 3 weeks at the hilltop site and loved every minute of it. The place is nestled in the middle of the mountain and a few mins away from DuPont State forest. Very convenient location if you want to go biking, hiking, swimming in the lakes or visiting waterfalls. The retreat is a real gem! Cathie and Tod have been the best hosts ever. They went out of their way to make our stay perfect. We felt very pampered. Place is in the woods which we loved, bathrooms are clean, place overall is well looked after and sites are each one of them very unique. We will be back for sure!”

"Dupont Bike Retreat is our new favorite spot to camp. We can bike to the trails, and the Canteen and Cafe are nearby. You can choose between wooded sites by the pond or hilltop sites close to the hot tub. The owners have made it comfortable and easy to hike, bike, or totally relax."

"Excellent location w beautiful view We stayed at the Dupont bike retreat for one night and had a great time. The sites were well marked, had picnic tables and a pretty cool fire ring set up. It was really peaceful. It rained the entre time we were there so we we took advantage of the common area for a while. It was perfect, it felt like glamping. We got to meet the couple that runs the place and they were very pleasant an welcoming. We'll be back for sure."

“Great, quiet spot situated close to DuPont state forest. As the title says, close enough to easily bike/hike to the fawn lake access area of the forest. Campsites are nice and decently spread out with a central portajohn nearby. Complimentary firewood! The lodge up the hill has a kitchen and sunny porch area as well as a hot, outdoor shower with a great view. Will be returning here in the future!.”

“We very much enjoyed our stay at DuPont Bike Retreat! We parked our camper van in site 1 with plenty of space and privacy. Firewood ready to go at our site, very much appreciated as we came in late. Hosts are super friendly with a sweet older dog and have built a primitive trail to access DuPont state forest trails nearby which was a great addition. They have so many plans to continue working on the property. We are excited to return in the future and stay longer next time to enjoy the amazing amenities like the hot tub and outdoor shower.”

"My weekend at the Dupont Bike Retreat was awesome. Campsite was great. I stayed down by the pond. My dog Raux loved the pond. Biking near Dupont Bike Retreat was great. Fawn Lake access is super close. You can ride out of camp and be on trail in 5 minutes. There was also live music both Friday and Saturday nights about two miles from camp. The outdoor shower (hot water) at the house was a nice touch on Saturday afternoon. There is a bathroom. a place to wash dishes and even a hot tub at the house as well. I highly recommend staying at the Dupont Bike Retreat."

“Wonderful basecamp for DuPont fun… Todd has a beautiful hilltop property across from the Fawn Lake entrance. We had a great time cycling all day in dupont leaving right from the property and then relaxing in the relatively secluded mountain retreat. Todd has a done a lot to create extra little amenities and comforts - check it out!.”
